What's New

Yolene's painting "Drying clothes" was included in a juried show in Giverny, France in June 2008.

Her oils and pastels were exhibited in a group show at the Manhattan Borough President's Office Gallery at One Centre Street in January 2008.

Yolene's paintings were on exhibit in a solo show at Columbia University's Russ Berrie Gallery located in the Russ Berrie Medical Science Pavilion from November 9, 2007 to January 11, 2008. Oil paintings, pastels and drawing narrated the visual transition from Africa to Haiti and beyond - United States and France.

Yolene's painting "Farm in Bovina, NY"was selected by the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts for inclusion in their 96th Annual Juried exhibition held at the Mystic Arts Center from June 8 to July 21, 2007.

Yolene's work was included in the Salon International du Pastel 2007 juried exhibition in Normandy, France from March 17 to April 1, 2007.

Select pieces of Yolene's paintings were exhibited with Kenkeleba Gallery at the National Black Fine Arts Show in 2008.

Yolene's painting "Pier A" Battery Park, NY won the Elaine & James Hewitt Memorial Award in Oil at Audubon's 64th Annual Juried show. (see image in Recent Paintings page)

.A 2009“WALL” calendar illustrated with Yolene’s paintings has been published and is now available. This colorful, calendar has 13 images and makes a perfect year-end gift. It is currently available in various giftstores and bookstores such as: The Brooklyn Museum, The Studio Museum in Harlem, Waterloo Center for the Arts Museum in Iowa, Richmond Town Art Center Museum in Staten Island, Brownstone Books @ Brooklyn Academy of Music, Brownstone Books on Lewis Aavenue in Brooklyn, Tribes Gallery in the East Village in Manhattan. Yolène’s paintings are currently featured on the covers (front and back) of the current special art issue (#11) of the NY based literary magazine A Gathering of the Tribes .

Her work was included in the Audubon Artists’s 65th annual juried exhibition at Salmagundi Club in September 2008.
